Screening Restoration Land in Minutes, Not Weeks
Four growing seasons. That is all that remains before 2030, the year 109 countries committed to hit their land restoration targets under the UNCCD framework.
A team can lose weeks proving a single parcel qualifies. Across a whole portfolio, that quickly adds up to a full season of growing. That can be the difference between hitting the 2030 target and missing it.
That gap between ambition and action was the backdrop for UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (17–28 August 2026), themed “Restoring Land. Restoring Hope.”

Why Discovery Is the Real Bottleneck to Restoration
Before a restoration or carbon project gets anywhere near planting, monitoring or issuance, someone has to answer a deceptively hard question: is this land actually eligible?
For most teams, that answer currently takes specialist GIS staff, weeks of desk research, and a fair amount of guesswork. In a landscape where the clock is running on 2030 commitments, time spent on that first screening step is time restoration work does not get.

Free Pre-Release access is reserved for UNCCD member states, academic institutions and select NGOs, several of the groups already in the room. Launching at COP17 meant they could start using Intelligence there and then, rather than hearing about it after the fact.
“Restoring Land. Restoring Hope” is UNCCD’s theme for this COP. It names the same target 109 countries have already committed to for 2030. Earthbanc built Intelligence to help meet it.

Earthbanc Intelligence is currently in Pre-Release and available for Mongolia only. Access is free for UNCCD member states, academic institutions and select NGOs; commercial use is a paid tier. What’s Next
Earthbanc will be expanding additional country coverage and methodologies leading up to the official launch. Earthbanc will publish updates on new geographies, refinements to the underlying methodology mapping, and any change to the free-tier eligibility criteria.
Intelligence provides a rapid assessment of lands against methodologies to allow users to quickly iterate and narrow their early search efforts. Whilst the pre-release does not yet provide a validated project design document or replace a full feasibility study we’re excited to be bringing this to market in hte near future.
